Red Chipped Toolbox

When the smallest of actions can reveal a cycle that looks so familiar;

 Photographing performances within my family’s home, I’ve created self-portraits that chronicle my journey of self-discovery. By intentionally misusing tools meant to 'tighten up' loose ends within the family structure and shedding light on my family’s gender roles within the sport of Drag Racing, I’ve explored how my identity as a gay, twenty-five-year-old male has been shaped. Growing up in an environment that often felt distant, these images have given me the space to examine the disconnections within my family and to piece together what once felt broken.

Days that felt so distant,

From one’s own resistant

A camera,

that soon turned into a memoir
